Yoga means union. A bringing together of energy; a mergeance of mind, body, spirit and environment.
The great sage Pantañjali said 'Yoga is the ability to direct the mind exclusively toward an object and sustain that direction without any distractions'.
Āsana (posture) is the third of the eight limbs of yoga and is a complete system of postures which bring about physical and emotional benefits which go way beyond those offered by conventional forms of exercise.
Practised regularly, yoga will keep the body slim, supple, light and healthy maintaining optimum physical and emotional wellbeing.

Yoga is an individual journey and what āsana variations suit one person will not necessarily suit another. We are all different; have different body types, physical and emotional requirements, goals and conditions and so yoga is about enabling you to develop your own path based on what is right for you.
The real beauty of Yoga is that it is accessible and will benefit everyone, irrespective of age and present physical and emotional condition.
Yoga restores balance to mind, body and spirit and will not only benefit your physical and emotional wellbeing but offers you the unique opportunity to immerse yourself in an entire system of living which will bring about a sense of peace and stillness, happiness and joy in all areas of your life.
Yoga provides an overall system of lifestyle and healing which will add benefit to your whole life.

Shelley inspired me to commit to my yoga practice in a way that suits me. She manages to strike an important balance between challenging me to move beyond my comfort zone, and yet maintain a sense of gentleness and ease.
I looked long and hard for a teacher who saw yoga more holistically than it is often taught in gym classes, and Shelley was exactly what I needed. Yoga (in the widest sense) has become part of my life, and Shelley’s expertise, encouragement and sense of humour have been invaluable.
I have a back injury and sought yoga with a view to helping my back.
I had a one to one session with Shelley and she made me feel at ease straight away. She designed a programme which focused on strengthening my back. Since I have been practising my back has felt stronger and I am almost pain free on some days.
As soon as I met Shelley I could tell that I had chosen the right person to teach me yoga. She is extremely warm and friendly and immediately put me at my ease. She is a fantastic advert for practising yoga as she looks so fit and healthy but not intimidating!
Her knowledge of all aspects of yoga is amazing and her explanations of both the poses and philosophy behind it are clear and easy to understand; this has benefited my practise enormously.
Her support, either over the phone or via email, means that she is always there to answer any of my questions. Shelley is truly inspirational and I would recommend her to anyone.
